HC to Provide Books for JetBlue’s Content Hub
HarperCollins has signed on as a partner in Fly-Fi, JetBlue’s new in-flight Wi-Fi program, which allows airline passengers to access movies, music, and books. Beginning November 26, the publisher will provide excerpts from a selection of bestselling titles, and each e-sample will include buy buttons linking to a variety of retailers.
Judge Approves Apple Settlement
Federal judge Denise Cote granted final approval to a deal that will settle money damages arising from Apple’s e-book price-fixing case. Under terms of the deal, Apple will pay $400 million to consumers—but only if the liability finding survives the appeal process.
Jessica’s Biscuit Closes Online Store
Cookbook specialty retailer Jessica’s Biscuit has shut down its website, ecookbooks.com, which was one of the first niche online bookstores. Owner Dave Strymish, who founded Jessica’s in 1980, said his next venture will be a microbrewery.
