A Colorful Solution
In early 2016, the Book Industry Study Group will add 512 new categories to the BISAC subject headings list. Among them: GAM019000, otherwise known as Games/Activity Books, which will include coloring books. This will give publishers a way to classify all of those adult coloring titles that, these days, may be found under everything from Art to Self-Help. And it’s about time, too: this week, four books out of the overall top 10 are adult coloring books, as are the top eight titles on our Trade Paperback list.
