Wasserman Named Heyday Publisher
Steve Wasserman, whose publishing career included stints as an agent and editor-in-chief of the Los Angeles Times Book Review, has been named publisher and executive director of Heyday Books. He succeeds company founder Malcolm Margolin and will begin July 1.
Scribd Revises Subscription Offering
Under Scribd’s new model, monthly subscribers will be issued Monthly Read credits that will enable them to read three e-books and one audiobook every month from the full Scribd library, while still being able to read an unlimited number of books from Scribd Selects, a rotating selection of titles. The monthly subscription fee remains $8.99.
More Indie Stores Opened Juenemann to Head PNBA
Brian Juenemann has been named executive director of the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association. Juenemann, who has been marketing director of the organization, is replacing outgoing executive director Thom Chambliss.
