Resurrected, Again
Stephen King’s 1983 novel Pet Sematary spawned a 1989 movie and accompanying theme song by the Ramones, plus a 1992 sequel. Now, a second big-screen adaptation of the novel is on the horizon: it premiered at SXSW March 16 and opens April 5. The tie-in, which pubbed February 26, cracks our trade paperback list for the first time, at #12.

Primate Numbers
Emory University ethologist and primatologist Frans de Waal debuts at #11 in hardcover nonfiction with Mama’s Last Hug, which our starred review called an “illuminating and remarkably moving treatise on animal empathy.” With 600K Facebook followers and a TEDMed talk that’s been viewed more than two million times, de Waal is increasingly popular with the general public.
4Chan Clan
The roots of QAnon by WWG1WGA (Where We Go One We Go All), #14 in trade paperback, date to 2017 posts on the message board 4Chan claiming evidence of a worldwide criminal conspiracy implicating Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, George Soros, and others. The following year, outlets including Fox News reported seeing supporters holding signs reading “We Are Q” at President Trump’s rallies. NBC News recently described the book’s “outlandish claims, including that prominent Democrats murder and eat children and that the U.S. government created both AIDS and the movie Monsters Inc.”
