Miami-based Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial (PRHGE) announced that Shaila Muñoz has joined the company as sales manager for its Spanish-language religious publishing program. The program focuses on products released under the Origen and OrigenKids imprints.
Muñoz joins PRHGE with more than a decade working in the publishing industry, most recently at HarperCollins Christian Publishers, where she oversaw the sales and customer relations for Spanish distributors in the U.S. Prior to joining HCCP, Muñoz worked for nine years with her father at Fe que agrada a Dios, a distributor and a bookstore in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The company will use Muñoz’s Spanish book industry experience as it seeks to expand into the Spanish Christian market, domestically as well as in Latin America and Spain.
“We are excited to add resources to our team that we believe will help us better serve the religious market in Spanish,” says Silvia Matute, president of PRHGE USA. “We feel confident that our authors and our titles under the Origen and OrigenKids imprints will strongly benefit from Shaila’s passion, knowledge, and enthusiasm for religious content.”
