Lucinda Riley, who died in early June, took multiple spots across European bestseller lists in late May with her Seven Sisters series, published in English by Atria. The Missing Sister, the conclusion of the series, was the top fiction title in Germany and Sweden, and #3 overall in Italy (and #2 in the Netherlands as well). The German fiction list had the latest Donna Leon mystery at #2 and Julie Zeh’s On Humans, set during the 2020 lockdowns, at #3.
On top of the Italian bestseller list was The Lions of Winter by Stafania Auci, a sequel to The Florios of Sicily, a historical family saga that sold more than 600,000 copies in Italy, according to Edizioni Nord, and was published in English by HarperVia.
In Sweden, the #2 spot on the fiction list was held by The Guardian Angel, part nine of the Emma Sköld series by Sofie Sarenbrant. In third place was Weekdays 4, the fourth installment of the diaries of musician Ulf Lundell.
