Fourth Wing and Tom Lake are the #1 and #2 books in the country again—but there’s more variety this week. The peak title in Michigan and the East North Central region is Stay Sane in an Insane World by peak performance coach Greg Harden, known for working with Tom Brady when the future seven-time Super Bowl champ played ball for University of Michigan. Elsewhere, classroom staples Charlotte’s Web and The Outsiders are popular back-to-school backpack cargo.

Bunny Hop

Tess Gunty’s National Book Award–winning novel, The Rabbit Hutch, debuts at #12 on our trade paperback list with its best weekly sales in hardcover or trade paper since its release. Gunty appeared on CBS Sunday Morning on August 13 and spoke about her hometown of South Bend, Ind., and the devastating 1963 closure of the Studebaker plant there; the city inspired her book’s setting, Vacca Vale. Her TV segment, which featured footage from Studebaker’s final days, prompted a sales bump.
