Golden Opportunities

Taylor Swift: A Little Golden Book Biography, which pubbed in May with six-figure print unit sales in its first week, is the #7 book in the country. The numbers have been brisk all along, began trending up in October—right around when the concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour was released and when Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce went public.

Cook It Like It's Hot

Snoop Dogg Presents Goon with the Spoon, coauthored by Snoop Dogg and Earl “E-40” Stevens and sharing a name with the latter’s food brand, lands at #20 on PW’s extended bestseller list. Print unit sales in the cookbook’s second week on sale are up 32% compared with its debut week. It joins Snoop’s first book of Dogg dishes, From Crook to Cook, which sold 11K print copies this week—up 43% from last week—and has sold 820K print copies since its 2018 release.

Cruising Altitude

Brandon Sanderson lands at #5 on our children’s fiction list with Defiant, the fourth and final book in a YA science fiction series. Though first-week print unit sales didn’t quite reach the heights of the third installment, the overall sales trajectory matches the series name: Skyward.

New & Notable

INHERITANCE
Nora Roberts
#4 Hardcover Fiction,
#9 overall
“Roberts brings her talents to bear on a romantic ghost story—the first in the Lost Bride Trilogy—with more heartstring tugs than scares,” per our review. “It might not break fresh ground, but this will hit the spot for Roberts’s many fans.”

ALEX CROSS MUST DIE
James Patterson
#5 Hardcover Fiction
The titles of books featuring Patterson’s psychologist detective often play on his surname—think Triple Cross or Criss Cross. Before the current release, the last time his full name appeared in the book’s title was 2018’s Target: Alex Cross.
