    At Grand Central, Emi Battaglia is v-p, associate publisher and, now, marketing director. She joined the company in 1994. Brian McLendon, who joined the company two years ago as associate publisher of Twelve, will continue in that role, and will also assume the title of associate publisher at GCP.

    At Thames & Hudson, Christopher Sweet has been appointed editorial director for trade, starting March 11; Lauren Miller has been named associate marketing director, overseeing marketing functions and logistics.

    Karen Patterson has joined F+W Media as national sales director handling the Adams Media product line. She has held previous positions with Barnes & Noble, Random House, and Sterling.

    Adrian Mellor has been appointed managing director at Oxford University Press's Asia education division.

    Barnes & Noble CEO William Lynch has received a two-year extension to run the company and will head the Nook Media business if that unit is separated from the retail trade stores, B&N said in a Friday filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission.
