Publishers Weekly GalleyTracker
General Submission Guidelines
Welcome to PW’s GalleyTracker. This system was designed to make multiple title submissions efficient, and also to provide better information to publishers about where individual books are in the reviewing process. Both physical and e-galleys should be submitted via GalleyTracker.
GalleyTracker is only for use by publishing companies. We are happy to consider self-published/indie titles submitted through BookLife.
Here’s how GalleyTracker works:
Submissions must be set up three (3) months--preferably four (4) months--prior to the 1st day of the month of publication.
All submissions must include a digital galley. We also encourage publishers to submit two (2) print galleys for every title for which they are available, in addition to the digital galley.
To set up your titles in PW GalleyTracker, you’ll need to enter the ISBN for each. GalleyTracker will autopopulate some metadata, though you will be able to change and supplement it before submitting your title. At a minimum, we will need:
- ISBN-13
- Author
- Price
- Publisher and imprint
- Format
- Number of pages in the finished book
- Publication month and year
- Distribution arrangements
- Publicity contact information
- The book’s agent
If available, please also include:
- The book’s acquiring editor
- Any relevant publicity information, including blurbs, or previous reviews. Book club, paperback, audio or movie rights sales, author tours of 5 cities or more, or an ad/promo budget of more than $30,000 should be noted.
Once your titles are set up, you will be emailed a cover sheet to include with each of your physical galleys. (Finished books and bound manuscripts are acceptable for submission. Please clearly mark them "In Lieu of Galleys." Unbound F&Gs are acceptable only for submission of heavily illustrated books; other unbound works submitted will not be considered for review.)
To submit an e-galley, you will simply need to upload the e-galley file during the registration process. We accept ePub or PDF files. Please note that all e-galleys must be DRM-free; we do not accept e-galleys via NetGalley or Edelweiss, due to our need to protect reviewer anonymity. We take intellectual property and copyright preservation seriously, so please know that any e-galley submitted will be only be accessed by PW’s reviews editor and an individual reviewer.
You can track the status of your titles as they progress through the reviews process on your Status page. We are unable to respond to email queries about review status. Please do not call or email to check on the status of a review. We cannot and do not supply information about whether or when a book will be reviewed outside the GalleyTracker system.
We review books in the following categories: Nonfiction, Fiction, Mystery/Thriller, Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror, Romance/Erotica, Poetry, Comics, Lifestyle (cooking, gardening & home, health & fitness, or parenting), Religion/Faith, and Children’s (Picture Books through Young Adult). PW does not review audiobooks.
