M.J. Haag's romance Devastation -- the third installment in her Beastly Tale series, which gives the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale a dark and adult twist -- topped the list of bestselling titles on the Smashwords platform for the month of October. Haag also snagged the #3 spot with Deceit, the second book in the series.
Also charting is Natasha Preston, whose romance, Broken Silence -- the second title in her Silence series, and a book that has been a bestseller at Smashwords since 2014 -- came in at #2.
Rounding out the top five are more romances: at #4 is Tame (the third book in the Carter Kids series) by Chloe Walsh -- who also nabbed the #18 spot with Thorn and the #24 spot with Fall to Pieces -- while Katie Ashley nabs the #5 spot with her romance The Proposal, the second installment in the author's Proposition series, and the book that topped last month's list.
And while the vast majority of bestsellers at Smashwords are romance -- only four of the books on this list are not -- Hal Elrod continues to chart, coming in at # 13 this month with a work of nonfiction: The Miracle Morning: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life (Before 8AM).
