Frankfurt is a long way from Forks, but that’s where Little, Brown Books for Young Readers announced the spring 2011 publication of Stephenie Meyer’s The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide, a full-color encyclopedic guide to the world of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. Featuring both illustrations and photographs, it will offer character profiles, family trees, maps, outtakes, and an interview with Meyer.
“I’m always amazed at how many in-depth questions my readers have about my characters and the world within the Twilight Saga,” said Meyer in a statement. “With The Official Illustrated Guide, I hoped we could incorporate as many details as possible, including character histories, like Alice’s back story. I’m thrilled with the different artistic interpretations done by Young Kim and the other talented illustrators, including Bella’s wedding dress. I hope the fans feel it was worth the wait!”
Set to retail for $24.99, the book arrives April 12, 2011 and will be available as an e-book; the publisher has not announced a first printing. With translation rights sold in nearly 50 countries, Meyer’s Twilight Saga has sold 116 million copies worldwide.
