Greg Heffley and his family will return later this year in a winter-themed sixth addition to Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Amulet Books will release the book in November; the title, print run, and on-sale date have not yet been announced.
“I’m very excited to be writing the sixth Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, which features the Heffley family being snowed in,” said Kinney in a statement. “Having just experienced an epic winter in New England, I've had plenty of inspiration to draw from.”
In other Wimpy Kid news, Abrams will release a revised version of its Wimpy Kid Do-It-Yourself Book on May 10. Abrams also plans to relaunch the official Wimpy Kid Web site next month. Earlier this year, the publisher released an updated version of The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary, leading up to the March 25 premiere of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, based on the second book in the series. As of this week, the film has grossed more than $50 million domestically.
