Scholastic has reached an agreement with digital comics distributor Comixology to make graphic novels from Graphix, Scholastic’s kids’ graphic novel line, available through the Comixology platform on iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle and the web. The deal was announced at the San Diego Comic-Con International and will launch with 19 titles to be followed by more Graphix titles. In the future new Graphix titles will be released through Comixology simultaneously in print in digital.
The initial titles to be released include The Babysitters Club Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 by Raina Telgemier, Three volumes of Knights of the Lunch Table by Frank Cammuso, The Magic Pickle by Scott Morse and Ghostopolis by Doug TeNapel. All nine volumes of Jeff Smith’s acclaimed Bone series, which launched the Graphix imprint in 2005, can also be downloaded though Comixology.
A digital distributor and retail marketplace, Comixology offers more than 40,000 digital titles from 75 publishers.
