Random House Children's Books imprint Delacorte Press has announced it will publish The Here and Now, a new novel by Ann Brashares, the bestselling author of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. The Here and Now is set for April 8, 2014, and, according to Beverly Horowitz, v-p and publisher of Delacorte, the book is "unlike anything Ann Brashares has ever written, and at the same time it's classic Ann."
In the novel, a teenage girl from the future described as a "potentially lethal threat" works to seamlessly blend into a suburban community. Horowitz added that the book, which is a romance, features "the unforgettable themes of loss, love, identity, and courage."
In the deal, Jennifer Rudolph Walsh at William Morris Endeavor sold world rights to the book to Brashares's longtime editor, Wendy Loggia.
Accoding to Random House, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants has over nine million copies in print in the U.S. and Canada.
