James Patterson’s Maximum Ride YA book franchise, which has sold over 30 million copies, is about to go digital.
Collective Digital Studio secured exclusive online rights and is already in discussion with YouTube talent. Patterson will serve as executive producer along with Gary Binkow, Leopoldo Gout, and Bill Robinson.
"James Patterson is not only one of the world’s most successful authors, he is also a publishing visionary, which is why we approached him about bringing Maximum Ride to life online," said CDS partner and chief content officer Binkow.
Binkow continued: "Max is a fierce and strong female protagonist who’s desperate to protect her flock. Bringing her to life as an original fantasy web series is something her fans have been asking for, evidenced by the hundreds of fan-made videos already online. The beauty of YouTube is that fans won’t have to wait forever as we won’t be bogged down by the typical studio development process."
"I’m confident that CDS will help introduce the book series to a completely new audience," said Patterson. "CDS impressed me with their understanding of my readers and their track record for producing premium online digital series."
