Random House Children’s Books imprint Delacorte Press has acquired U.S. rights to Finding Audrey, the first young adult novel from the author of the bestselling Shopaholic series, Sophie Kinsella. Beverly Horowitz, v-p, publisher at Delacorte, bought open market rights for the work from agent Kim Witherspoon at Inkwell Management. The book will go on sale on June 9, 2015, with a first printing of 150,000.
The novel features a 14-year-old girl recovering from an anxiety disorder, and blends “family comedy, romance, and personal discovery,” according to the publisher.
“Finding Audrey is my first YA novel, and I loved writing it,” said Kinsella. “Audrey has already become a best friend to me, and I hope you will enjoy meeting her and her crazy family.”
Kinsella’s books have sold more than 36 million copies worldwide. Her most recent novel, Shopaholic to the Stars, was released on October 21 by the Dial Press.
