Author Jeff Kinney appeared on the Kelly Clarkson Show on January 29 to announce the latest news for his bestselling Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. The 19th installment of the series, Hot Mess, will be released on October 22 from Amulet Books, an imprint of Abrams Children’s Books.
Family drama is at the center of Kinney’s new adventure following perpetually anxious tween Greg Heffley. When two halves of Greg’s extended family are reunited for the summer, Greg navigates the arising troubles. The book will be edited by Kinney’s longtime editor Charles Kochman, editor-in-chief of Abrams ComicArts.
First launched in 2007, the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series has sold more than 290 million copies globally and has been published in 84 editions in 69 languages. Hot Mess will be? released simultaneously in hardcover, ebook, and audiobook by Recorded Books in 27 countries.
