Avon, Mass.-based Adams Media, a division of F+W Media, will introduce a new line of print and e-books with Kidz Bop, the popular children’s music brand, a division of Razor & Tie Entertainment, which has sold over 11 million CDs of kids singing popular songs for kids over the past decade.
The Kidz Bop series will be introduced in May 2011. The books will come packaged with a special code redeemable for a free Kidz Bop MP3 music download and will integrate online audience participation. The nearly one million registered kidzbop.com users will be able to vote on story lines, upload videos for e-book inclusion, and access bonus promotional content. “By fusing content with music, social networking, and video, we’re able to not only offer kids a great entertainment experience, but also more ways to express themselves,” says Adams Media publisher Karen Cooper.
The series will launch with Kidz Bop: The Junior Novel, a debut novel about Kidz Bop Kids, the obstacles they overcome, and their misadventures when they set out in search of a new member; Kidz Bop: Be a Pop Star, a how-to guide to become a rock star; and Kidz Bop: A Rockin’ Fill-In Story, a fill-in-the-blanks story in which kids can jam about their favorite Kidz Bop stars.
In addition to bringing Kidz Bop into print, the series marks the first partnership of two companies that are part of Abbry Partners’s investment portfolio.
