Candlewick's Find Waldo Local promotion, which the publisher produced last month in conjunction with the American Booksellers Association, was such a resounding success that Candlewick announced that it will sponsor it again next summer. “Over the past week, we’ve received dozens of emails from booksellers singing the praises of Find Waldo Local,” says Candlewick director of field sales Elise Supovitz. “Virtually every bookseller has asked the same question: “Can we do it again next year?’ The answer is a resounding ‘Yes!’ ” The July 2012 promotion was held in 250 cities and involved more than 5,000 independent businesses.
