Beginning in spring 2014, Candlewick Press will group all of its media-related children’s publishing, including TV and movie tie-ins, under a new imprint, called Candlewick Entertainment. “[The imprint] is a natural extension of our growing media rights development business,” said Candlewick president and publisher Karen Lotz, who is also managing director of the U.K.–based Walker Books Group. “Since Helen McAleer founded Walker Productions in 2007, we have successfully developed and sold three television series internationally. Additionally, Candlewick has recently helped introduce the animated character Peppa Pig to U.S. readers. We wanted to give this publishing a designated home.”

The team for the new imprint will report to McAleer, who heads the Walker Group’s global rights and development division, which was established last year. Among the books on the initial list: Guess How Much I Love You: Follow Me, Peppa Pig and the Great Vacation, Peppa Pig and the Vegetable Garden, Fizzy’s Lunch Lab: Super Supper Throwdown, and Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman: Doggie Duties.
