Regnery Publishing has added to its list of books for children, forming Regnery Adventure. To launch the imprint, the company has signed a new middle-grade fiction series, The Kerman Derman Chronicles, in a three-book deal with bestselling author and broadcast journalist Raymond Arroyo.
The first title in the series, Kerman Derman and the Relic of Perilous Falls, will be released next June. A Regnery spokesperson said the company is in discussions for other series for Regnery Adventure, but will focus on Kerman Derman in 2014. Arroyo is the author of five books and anchor of EWTN’s The World Over with Raymond Arroyo. Regnery president Marji Ross said Regnery has been a fan of Arroyo storytelling abilities for a long time and is thrilled that the Kerman series "will be the anchor for our new Regnery Adventure imprint."
In his comments on the deal Arroyo said "I love the idea of starting something new. Inaugurating this imprint with a series that I've been working on for about seven years was irresistable."
In June 2012, Regnery entered the children’s market with Little Patriot Press which currently has 14 titles aimed at children ages 5-8. Diane Reeves is the editorial director for both the children's and middle grade books.
