Sourcebooks announced on February 27 that it is adding a new partner to its Put Me in the Story digital platform: the Peanuts brand, which is a joint venture of Iconix Brand group and the late Charles Schulz’s family. Sourcebooks will produce original stories featuring Charlie Brown and his friends that will be designed and written specifically for Put Me in the Story’s personalized book app and website, which allows parents to insert their child's name and image and create personalized versions of children’s books as both an app or in print format.
Sourcebooks will also repackage Peanuts classics in print and digital formats for sale to booksellers, other retailers, and libraries. Good Grief, It’s Your Birthday and Cheer Up, Charlie Brown will be released in September.
Since launching Put Me in the Story with three titles in late 2012, Sourcebooks has partnered with such popular brands as Sesame Workshop/Elmo, The Berenstain Bears, Anne Geddes, Nancy Tillman’s On the Night You Were Born, and, most recently, Hello Kitty.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Peanuts,” Dominique Raccah, Sourcebooks’ CEO and publisher said in a release. “By adding these books to the Put Me In The Story personalized platform, we’re giving fans young and old new ways to experience the beloved characters of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the gang.”
