With the November 4 publication of the next Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, The Long Haul, Jeff Kinney's series will surpass 150 million copies in print worldwide. Amulet Books, an imprint of Abrams, announced that The Long Haul, ninth in the series, will carry a 5.5 million–copy first printing.
"We are thrilled to have one of the bestselling series of all time,” says Michael Jacobs, president and CEO of Abrams. “It is clear to us that millions of kids have become readers because of the Wimpy Kid series.”
The first and eponymous book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series was published in 2007.
