The Nancy Gallt Literary Agency, founded by Nancy Gallt in 2000, has changed its name, effective immediately. Senior agent Marietta Zacker, who joined the agency in 2008, has become a partner, and the agency will now be known as Gallt and Zacker Literary Agency. “Over the past eight years,” Gallt said, “Marietta has become an integral part of the Nancy Gallt Literary Agency – adding wonderful new clients, developing a great rapport with existing ones, expanding relationships within the industry, and bringing her expertise in and knowledge of the literary world.” The name change was made, Gallt said, “in recognition of her passion and hard work.”
In other news, Erin Casey has been promoted to junior agent; she was previously an intern. Jessica Harold has joined the agency as an intern; she is the recipient of an internship grant from We Need Diverse Books. Ellen Greenberg will continue as international rights director, now based out of Seattle.
The agency’s roster includes international bestselling author Rick Riordan, two-time Newbery Honor author Jim Murphy, and Caldecott Medalist Sophie Blackall, as well as more recent clients Randi Pink, Dana Alison Levy, Daria Peoples, and Ben Clanton.
