Prince of the Evening
Vroman’s in Pasadena, Calif., gave Allen Zadoff (l.) a warm welcome on November 9 for his launch event presenting The Donut Prince of New York (Holiday House). In the YA novel, high school junior Eugene Guterman’s life takes a turn when an accidental run-in with a football player garners the attention of the coach and earns him a spot on the team, catapulting his social status among his peers. Zadoff was joined by Yehudi Mercado (r.) for a conversation and signed copies of his books for attendees.
Let’s Meet!
On November 9, Barney Saltzberg held a meet and greet at Sausalito Books by the Bay in Sausalito, Calif., for his recent release, The Smell of Wet Dog (Holiday House/Porter), an illustrated book of poetry about a scent all canine lovers are familiar with. Here, Saltzberg signs copies for attendees.
Festival Fun
Debut author-illustrator Hannah Chung made an appearance at the Boston Book Festival's Kids Buzz event on November 9 to share her picture book. The Most Perfect Persimmon (Astra Young Readers) centers on Joo Hong, who can’t wait to share her perfectly ripe persimmon with her grandmother. Here, Chung holds a storytime with young attendees.
