CourseSmart, the digital textbook and course materials platform, is expanding access to its educational content and e-commerce platform to selected countries in the Middle East and Africa. Prices will be in pound sterling initially with plans to explore local pricing in local currencies.

CourseSmart content will now be available in such countries as Amenia, Cyprus, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, the Palestinian Territories, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Turkey. Among the African countries now able to access CourseSmart are Algeria, Egypt, South Africa, Zimbabw and Tunisia.

Fionnuala Duggan, managing director of CourseSmart International, credited the expansion to “international demand for the eTextbook platform,” and said, “It will provide instructors in all the participating countries with full access to the digital samples and our institutional and student ecommerce offering.”
