Amazon is bringing its Kindle Singles storefront to Europe. The company has launched its Kindle Singles Store at Amazon.co.uk, offering stories between 5,000 and 30,000 words to customers there. As in the U.S., writers of Kindle Singles can receive up to a 70% royalty rate on their work. In the U.K., Kindle Singles will be priced between £0.99 and £1.99. The U.K. storefront has gone live with Singles by, among others, Susan Hill, Candia McWilliam, and Len Deighton (writing a piece featuring James Bond).

Offering numbers from the U.S., Amazon said over 4 million Kindle Singles have sold to date. In the U.K., readers will also be able to purchase Singles that initially went on sale in the States, with Singles by Lee Child, Stephen King and Christopher Hitchens, among others, available. Amazon said that Lee Child's Single, "Second Son," which came out in August 2011, has gone on to sell over 220,000 copies.
