The non-profit Copyright Clearance Center announced this week that is has launched an Open Access Resource Center in partnership with the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP). And to kick off its partnership CCC is hosting a free webinar featuring ALPSP CEO Audrey McCulloch today, January 16, to discuss the resource center as well as how ALPSP members are working with their communities to address their OA needs.
CCC officials say the new web-based resource center will include a variety of information, including “links to the latest open access news, reports, whitepapers, webinars and Web sites.” Users can also complete a feedback survey to add suggestions for what they would like to see included going forward. Roy Kaufman, managing director of New Ventures, CCC, said the resource center "aims to be a comprehensive resource for all things open access."
ALPSP's McCullogh said the organization was delighted to partner with CCC on the venture. "ALPSP members are committed to making content open access in the way their research communities need it," she noted in a statement. "But keeping track of current thinking and policy developments on open access from across the globe can seem nigh-on impossible at times."
