Byliner has arranged a partnership with Public Radio International to make e-books out of select programs that air on the network. The Byliner e-books will be available as text-only downloads to customers who subscribe to Byliner for free; enhanced e-book editions of the programs will retail at $3.99. The enhanced e-books will feature, Byliner explained, an experience "that will combine radio narrative, text transcript from the original episode, additional research and audio elements, and other multimedia assets."
The first planned titles from the partnership are from the "American Icons" program produced by Studio360; the first three titles will be released in early February.
