Amazon Publishing has sealed licensing agreements to open up seven new rights holders for Kindle Worlds, the company's publishing model that allows writers to publish and sell authorized stories inspired by popular worlds. New partners include Hasbro's G.I. Joe brand, T.V. shows Pretty Little Liars, Ravenswood, and Veronica Mars, as well as comics properties from Valiant Entertainment.
“Our Kindle Worlds collaboration with Amazon Publishing has been tremendously successful since its introduction last year,” said Leslie Morgenstein, president of Alloy Entertainment. “Adding Ravenswood and Veronica Mars to the platform is a great way for us to gain deeper engagement with fans as they explore their own creative story adaptations.”
Writers can earn up to a 35% royalty on titles sold through Kindle World, and stories, exclusive to Kindle, are typically priced between $0.99 and $3.99.
