Byliner this week announced a partnership with Public Radio International and “Studio 360 to release the first three enhanced e-books in the American Icons series, based on the Peabody Award-winning radio series hosted by Kurt Andersen. The first three titles to be released will be I Love Lucy, The Vietnam Veteran's Memorial, and The Disney Parks.
The e-books will be more than simple transcripts the shows, said Jim Daly, Executive Producer, Byliner, but instead "rethink the program" for a new medium. "We've added a range of multimedia enhancements, building on the original presentations to create something very exciting," Daly said in a statement. "The ebooks are lively and informative. They'll bring a new level of depth and enjoyment to the programs in a form that readers can enjoy anywhere and at any time."
Under terms of the deal, Byliner subscribers can get text-only editions of the e-books as part of their subscription service, and can purchase the enhanced titles for $3.99 per story.
