Scribd has reached an agreement with Lonely Planet to add hundreds of its travel guides to the Scribd e-book subscription service which offers access to more than 300,000 titles from a wide range of publishers for $8.99 a month.
Scribd has also added the ability to bookmark pages in the subscription service across all their devices. The service is supported across all major platforms and devices and the feature allows a user to synch their bookmarks and read their books offlline.
Darren O’Connell, product director of guidebooks and e-books for Lonely Planet, said the Scribd service has an “amazing reach with more than 80 million users around the world, and a subscriber base that is growing 80% month over month.”
“Travel is the perfect category for e-books,” said Trip Adler, CEO and cofounder of Scribd.
