Avon Impulse, HarperCollins's digital-first romance fiction imprint created in 2011, announced that in the four years since its launch, it has sold more than three million e-books.
Amanda Bergeron, the Avon editor who directs the Impulse line said that since 2011, Avon Impulse has expanded its program from four to eight originals a month, and has had more than three dozen titles hit bestseller lists.
"In just a few short years, we've developed loyal fan bases for many of our new authors," said senior v-p and publisher Liate Stehlik. "We see digital publishing as a vital component in strategically growing new authors, and extending the visibility of our existing author base. We are happy to see readers respond so strongly to our Impulse program – and our authors are so happy with their results that they have become the strongest advocates for the Impulse brand."
The imprint was the first line in the Impulse digital publishing program, and has since been joined by Witness Impulse (mystery) and Voyager Impulse (science-fiction and fantasy).
