Digital comics marketplace Comixology, which launched a DRM-free program in July, announced that a second wave of 14 publishers will now allow their customers to download and store DRM-free copies of comics they have purchased. The program now offers access to more than 4,000 DRM-Free comics and graphic novels.

New publishers joining the Comixology DRM-free program include Fantagraphics Books, IDW Publishing, Oni Press, Valiant Entertainment, GT Labs Comics, Kingstone Media, Aspen Comics, Action Lab Entertainment, Th3rd World Studios, A Wave Blue World, Blind Ferret Entertainment, Caliber Comics, Creative Impulse Entertainment and Devil’s Due Entertainment. The 14 new publishers will join the six publishers, among them Image Comics, Thrillbent and Top Shelf, that launched the Comixology DRM-free program back in July at the San Diego Comic-con Internatinal.

Chip Mosher, Comixology v-p, communications and marketing, said “After the wildly successful launch during Comic-Con International we’re thrilled to offer our customers an even greater selection with this next wave of publishers offering DRM-free backups. We look forward to continuing to work with more publishers in offering DRM-free backups to comics fans worldwide.”
