Bob Deyan, founder of Deyan Audio Services, passed away on August 19 at the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, Calif. due to complications of ALS. He was 56 years old.
Deyan and his wife, Debra Deyan, founded their audiobook business, Deyan Audio, in 1990. In 2013, Bob Deyan received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Audio Publisher's Association Audie awards. In May 2014, Debra Deyan founded the Deyan Institute of Voice Artistry and Technology, a school for voice actors, in Northridge, Calif.
The weekend before Deyan's death, hundreds of friends convened in Deyan's home to participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS. Details regarding the memorial service are forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Golden West Chapter Billion for Bob team.
