Donald H. McGee, former president and publisher of Courage Books, an imprint of Running Press, passed away in Sarasota, Fla. on April 20. He was 76 years old.
McGee retired from Courage Books in 2007 after 39 years in publishing. He began his career as the owner of two bookstores in Palm Beach, Fla., and also held positions at Harcourt and Simon and Schuster.
He is survived by his partner of 22 years, two brothers, and their children.
There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at the Holy Innocents Cathedral in Halcottsville, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Heart of the Catskills, a no-kill animal shelter, in care of the cathedral.
