James Brannigan, a well-known executive in the audiobook industry and former president of the Audio Publishers Association, passed away on June 29 after a brief illness. He was 54 years old.
Brannigan began his career at Waldenbooks, where he managed the fledgling audio category. He held key roles at Highbridge and as a consultant to many audiobook and publishing clients including Random House, Audio Partners and BBC Audiobooks America, before serving for many years as the latter's president and publisher. In 2011, Brannigan joined Morley Companies Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Michele; his mother, Anna; his sister Barbara Civali and her husband Michael; sister Patricia Hollis; brother John Brannigan; five nieces; three nephews; five godchildren; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and parents-in-law, Barry and Sallie Pelkey.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass to be held on Monday, July 6 at 10 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden, Ct. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden, Ct. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Family and friends may call at the John J.
