Marjorie Braman died at her home in Taghkanic, N.Y. of complications from breast cancer on July 2. She was 60.
Braman began her 26 years in publishing as an editorial assistant and worked her way up through the ranks to senior v-p and publishing director at HarperCollins, then v-p. and editor-in-chief at Henry Holt. She also worked as a consultant at Open Road Integrated Media.
Some of the authors she worked with include Elmore Leonard, Michael Crichton and Sena Jeter Naslund. Braman most recently worked as an independent editor, and was a member of the independent editor's group 5e.
