Veronica "Fuzzy" Randall, a senior editor at Ten Speed Press who retired in 2009 after 19 years with the company, died on August 12. She was 61.
Randall began part-time work with Ten Speed in the 1970s. She took on various positions at the publisher, including as an illustrator, before being hired full-time in 1990 as an editor. She edited bestselling authors such as Donald Asher, Anodea Judith, Don and Jeanne Elium, and Diane Stein.
"Twenty years ago, as a new member of Ten Speed, I first benefited from Fuzzy’s sage counsel, and many people who passed through our doors would say the same," Ten Speed publisher Aaron Wehner wrote in a letter to the company. "She had a great sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and a remarkable way with words."
Ten Speed is making a donation to the ASPCA in Randall's memory.
