Irv Myers, a respected publishing logistics expert for such companies as Waldenbooks, Rowman & Littlefield/NBN Books, and New Leaf, died May 7 of a heart attack. He was 68.
After jobs with Walden and Ingram, Myers joined R&L/NBN, where he worked for 13 years. While at R&L/NBN, Myers opened and ran the company’s Blue Ridge Summit operation and opened its U.K. distribution company, NBN Books, in 2003. Myers joined New Leaf in 2010, and was promoted to CEO of the distributor and wholesaler in March 2014. At the end of that year, Myers retired and a established a consulting business, Myers Associates.
Speaking of Myers passing, Jed Lyons, CEO of R&L/NBN, said Myers “was a knowledgeable, affable, and dedicated book professional whose memory many of us will always treasure.”
