Officials from the the Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division of the Association of American Publishers said they’ve received a record number of entries for this year’s Professional and Scholarly Excellence (PROSE) Awards. For the 2012 award season, the AAP received 518 PROSE entries from a total of 70 publishers across the United States and abroad.
The final judging of the awards runs through January 8, with all 14 of the final judges meeting in New York to select winners, closing a two-month process. The awards will be announced at a luncheon on February 7, 2013 in Washington, D.C., at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
Now in its 37th year, awards this year will also involve social media—incorporating live tweeting during the judging process, with “sneak peeks.” Those interested can follow using the the #PROSEAwards hashtag and @PROSEAwards handle on Twitter. The awards ceremony on Thursday, February 7 in Washington, and the concurrent global live webcast, will also feature a real-time feed of tweets using the #PROSEAwards hashtag.
