Organizers of the Dayton Literary Peace Prize announced that writer and activist Wendell Berry will receive the Richard C. Holbrooke Distinguished Achievement Award.

The prize, which celebrates literature that promotes social justice, was named after the U.S. diplomat who was instrumental in the 1995 Dayton Peace Accords. Tim O'Brien, last year's recipient, will present the award to Berry at a gala in Dayton in November.
