As BookExpo America event director Steven Rosato notes in his most recent blog post on The Bean, “It’s no secret that BEA will be in Chicago in 2016.” He invites readers to weigh in on where they would like to see it go next, or if it should stay in New York City, where it will continue to be held at the Javits Center in both 2014 and 2015.
For Rosato, the two key factors determining BEA’s venue reflect changes to the show in the past two years with the addition of Power Readers: creating a pop culture event for consumers centered around books and authors and protecting the B2B value for exhibitors and attendees.
As for Rosato's picks for future locations, “suffice to say," he writes, "BEA Orlando, BEA Dallas, BEA Atlanta—well I will start looking at prison camps first. All great cities in their own right, but not cities that BEA exhibitors or attendees would seek as a destination."
