Jason Bateman and Tina Fey will kick off BookCon, ReedPOP's consumer book event making its debut at this year's BEA, with a panel discussion and sneak peek of their upcoming film, This Is Where I Leave You, adapted from Jonathan Tropper's novel of the same name. Tropper, who wrote the screenplay, and director Shawn Levy will also appear on the panel, which will take place on May 30, the eve of the first-ever BookCon.
“This is exactly the type of event that embodies what BookCon is all about and sets the tone in a truly impactful way,” said ReedPOP’s global senior v-p, Lance Fensterman. “This is our way of celebrating the debut of BookCon and giving fans a unique experience that will carry into the following day.”
The hour-long panel, moderated by Entertainment Weekly's Anthony Breznican, will be followed by a happy hour. A limited number of tickets for the kickoff event will be available to those who purchase BookCon and BEA tickets, for an additional $10.
The announcement of the new panel follows ReedPOP’s reveal of a lineup of feature BookCon headliners including Amy Poehler, Martin Short, John Grisham, R.L. Stine, Stan Lee, Cary Elwes, Cassandra Clare, and Maggie Stiefvater.
