ReedPop has tapped Rachel Maddow, acclaimed MSNBC TV host and political commentator, to host its annual adult book and author breakfast panel at BookExpo 2019. The breakfast will be held the morning of May 30 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City.
The Emmy-award winning broadcaster will host a glittering panel of bestselling authors. Joining Maddow on the podium will be National Book Award for nonfiction winner Ta-Nehisi Coates, who will discuss the forthcoming publication of his first novel, The Water Dancer; New Yorker staff writer Malcolm Gladwell, who will preview his forthcoming nonfiction work Talking to Strangers; crime novelist and comics writer Marjorie Liu, who will outline the creation of Monstress (with artist Sana Takeda), her three-volume Eisner Award-winning graphic novel series; and acclaimed crime writer Karin Slaughter will discuss her new thriller The Last Widow, the latest work in her Will Trent series.
In addition to moderating the panel, Maddow will announce the details of her own forthcoming, as yet unnamed, nonfiction book for the first time. Maddow is also the author of the 2012 bestselling nonfiction title Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power.
The adult book and author breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. on May 30 on the main stage of BookExpo, the annual trade show of the U.S. book publishing industry that runs May 29-31.
