U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor will headline a Thursday evening event at this year’s BookExpo, show organizer ReedPop ha s announced.
“An Evening with Justice Sonia Sotomayor” will take place at New York City’s Javits Center on May 30, from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. ET. The free event is open to all Thursday BookExpo badge holders, but does require advance registration.
During the hour, Sotomayor will discuss Just Ask: Be Different, Be Brave, Be You, her new picture book that will be released September 3 by Penguin Young Readers. The book will be Illustrated by artist Rafael López (The Day You Begin, Book Fiesta!). In Just Ask, Sotomayor will talk about her life and the experiences that led her to write the book.
Recent speakers in the Thursday evening spot include former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Senator Bernie Sanders.
