Tanya Wright, the 2013 winner of Harlequin's romance writing competition, So You Think You Can Write, was offered a two-book contract by the publisher. The New Hampshire resident beat out 650 contestants, and her first book, If Only, is slated for publication in fall 2014.
This year, Harlequin also partnered with Wattpad for a SYTYCW new adult competition. Entrants uploaded chapters online and were able to receive immediate feedback from Wattpad's community of 20 million readers. Four winners were to be selected, but Harlequin editors were so impressed by the quality of the material that six writers will be offered book deals with Harlequin's new adult digital romance series.
