Bestseller Neal Stephenson (Cryptonomicon) has inked a new two-book, world English rights deal with HarperCollins. The first title in the deal, Seveneves, set for May 2015, will be released by William Morrow in the U.S. and Canada, and Borough Press in the U.K. and Australia/New Zealand.

In the U.S., Jennifer Brehl, Stephenson's longtime editor, brokered the sale with agent Liz Darhansoff at Darhansoff & Verrill.

Seveneves, HC explained, is about the survivors of a global disaster which nearly causes the extinction of all life on the planet. The second book in the deal, currently untitled and set for 2017, will be written with Nicole Galland, who collaborated with Stephenson on the serialized work, The Mongoliad.

While HC has been Stephenson's publisher in North America, this deal marks the first in which the publisher will be simultaneously publishing him in other English language territories. Publisher of William Morrow, Liate Stehlik, said the house is eager to "work collaboratively to grow Neal’s English speaking audience around the world.”
