Simon & Schuster’s Louise Burke has acquired world publishing rights in all formats to an upcoming book by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The untitled work, which will be published by S&S’s Threshold Editions imprint, will go on sale October 27.
Trump, who recently said that his The Art of the Deal was the second greatest book ever written (behind the Bible), said in a prepared statement: "I am excited to announce that work on my new bestseller is almost done and I'll have a new book out from Threshold Editions and Simon & Schuster later this year. Not since The Art of the Deal have I had this much fun writing a book," said Trump.
According to S&S. in the book, Trump “will outline how a crippled America could be restored to greatness. The book will explore Trump’s view on key issues including the economy, big CEO salaries and taxes, healthcare, education, national security, and social issues. Of particular interest will be his vision for complete immigration reform, beginning with securing the borders and putting American workers first.”
Burke bought rights from Byrd Leavell and Scott Waxman at Waxman Leavell Literary Agency and Bill Zanker from The Learning Annex. Simon & Schuster Audio will publish the audio book.
Threshold Editions has been on a hot streak of late. Three recently-released titles have been high up on PW’s bestsellers lists: Plunder and Deceit by Mark Levin is #3 on the hardcover bestsellers list, while Dick Cheney’s Exceptional is #4. It Is About Islam by Glenn Beck is in fifth place on the trade paperback list.
